Following the escalation of sanctions in 2012, many foreign automakers left the Iranian market, and since then, the import of any type of auto parts into the country has been banned.

Now that Borjam has been able to lift international sanctions, the entry of auto parts into the country has returned to the pre-sanctions route; Therefore, the import of parts that are not produced in the country was resumed.

However, experts say that one of the important reasons in this regard is the post-embargo conditions and the re-signing of car contracts between Iranian carmakers and their former partners. So far, a new car that is the result of recent contracts has not yet been produced.

The only car that is to be offered to the country market from the recent contracts is the 2008 car, a joint product of Iran Khodro and Peugeot.

However, experts say that another important factor in the growth of the import of spare parts to the country is the increase in the import of spare parts for the production of Chinese cars in public and private car companies; This issue seems to have led to the growth of Chinese in the Iranian market.
