Electronic clearance of goods clearance procedures between the border customs of Iran and Azerbaijan
Customs clearance procedures between the border customs of Iran and Azerbaijan became electronic. According to the report, customs information related to the clearance of export and import goods at the border customs of a country will be accepted by the customs of the other party, thus saving both time and cost of clearance procedures. In other words, customs affairs related to the clearance of commercial cargo at the border customs of the two countries are done only once, and this feature allows the customs of both parties to accept the export declaration of the other country as its import declaration.
In this information system, the owner of the goods, the classification code of the goods based on the coordinated system and the values of the weight and value of the goods are exchanged between the border customs of the two countries. In addition, the customs of the other country will be informed of all export shipments to the other country.
Also, this action, which is done virtually in the framework of creating a common border gate, will enable the introduction of authorized economic operators (AEO) and provide special facilities, and the process of trade will be accelerated and made easier.
The report states that this action will be taken in continuation of the project of creating a green customs corridor between Iran and Russia in order to speed up the process of customs formalities between the countries between which the customs cooperation agreement has been signed. In this regard, Iranian Customs has signed agreements with South Korea and Turkey, the preparations for which have been prepared.
It is envisaged that trade with neighboring countries will be facilitated and accelerated by the electronic exchange of information between the Iranian customs and the mentioned countries and the subsequent completion of goods formalities at the customs of origin.
It is worth mentioning that Iran Customs has signed a memorandum of understanding on joint customs cooperation and electronic exchange of information with some countries involved in the transaction and neighboring countries such as China, South Korea, Russia, Azerbaijan, Turkey, Kyrgyzstan and Afghanistan. Successful electronic customs, the virtual model of the common border gate with the focus on electronic exchange of information is on the agenda of Iranian customs.
The latest news about the electronic clearance of goods between the customs of Iran and the Republic of Azerbaijan indicates that the customs of the two countries have succeeded in exchanging information on the declarations prepared in both countries.
