Referring to the allocation of 266 million dollars from the National Development Fund to this project, Pourmehdi said: The total estimated cost of construction of this power plant is 12 thousand billion rials with the opening of the first phase. This year, in addition to providing sustainable electricity to the region and connecting to the national grid, about 100 specialists will be employed. And each unit of steam generates 180 MW.

The East Azarbaijan Deputy Governor for Civil Engineering continued: “The construction of the 1,000-megawatt power plant in Harris city with a credit of more than 1,750 billion rials and 235 million euros will start in 1994 and the first phase will be put into operation in 1996.”
