The transformation of Sar-e-Abad Culbery crossing into an official bazaar is one of the government’s plans
Ali Mafakheri in an interview with IRNA on Sunday, referring to the important achievements of the government in Sarvabad city, said: “One of the important programs of the government is to reopen the borders in order to ensure the minimum livelihood of border residents.” He continued: “In this regard, the Culbery crossing of Meleh Khord, Sarvabad city, after being closed for 13 years, with the efforts and pursuit of the governor of Kurdistan, officially reopened in July of this year and the import of goods and goods from this border began.”
He said: “The reopening of the Culbery Meleh Khord crossing has caused relative prosperity and income for border residents along the border and has led to reverse migration in the villages of this region.”
The governor of Sarvabad city added: At present, 83 items of goods are imported through the Mulkhor crossway and there is a possibility of trading these goods without any restrictions. The people of these villages use the capacity of this culvert crossing during the week according to the plan specified by the Border Regiment.
Referring to the request of other villages in the city to use the capacity of this culvert and issue a border card, he said: “Considering that the economy of Sarvabad city is weak, we have sent a list of all residents of the city villages within a radius of 15 km to the border regiment to issue a border card.” .
Referring to the increase in unemployment in the region, Mafakheri said: “In the current economic situation, the Kulberi Meleh Khord crossing can solve a small part of the employment problems in the region and be a source of income for border residents.”
He stated that the necessary infrastructure has been provided, including a suitable communication route, fencing and the establishment of the Border Regiment checkpoint at the Kulberi Meleh Khord crossing, adding: The border of Bashmaq is Marivan, and if this important thing is achieved, all the villages of Sarvabad city will benefit from the capacity and potential of this border.
The governor of Sarvabad city stated: At present, only goods and commodities are imported in Kulbari Meleh Khord crossing, and if it becomes an official market, exports will also be made from this border.
He pointed to the payment of profit from fuel exports and added: in the implementation of this plan to the villages located within a radius of 20 kilometers from the border, an amount will be transferred to the account of the heads of households as profit from the sale of fuel.
According to him, this project will be implemented in four border cities of Marivan, Sarvabad, Baneh and Saqez.
Mafakheri pointed out: Considering that the persistence of the villagers, especially in the border villages, creates security in these areas, the government pays special attention to this important issue and tries to solve the most important problems and shortcomings of the villagers.
According to IRNA, the Kulbari Meleh Khord crossing in Sarvabad city is located near the Khurmal region of Iraqi Kurdistan. This border was closed 13 years ago by the US invasion of Iraq and was officially reopened in July this year with the pursuit of the government. It has a common ground with Iraq, 24 km of which is in Sarvabad city. Sarvabad city is located 90 km west of Sanandaj, the capital of Kurdistan province.
