He said: After completing the comprehensive plan of Semnan Special Economic Zone, this plan was sent to the Supreme Council of Free Zones and in February 1994 in the research working group of free and special economic zones, the general plan was approved and after implementing the reforms desired by members, to approve The final was sent to the Secretariat of the Supreme Council.

Sadeghi continued: In the fourth meeting of November 1995 with the presence of representatives of the Ministry of Industry, Mines and Trade, Central Bank, Environmental Protection Organization, Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Housing and Urban Development, Cultural Heritage Organization, Program and Budget Organization and other members, General Council Approved the Special Economic Zone.

He added: Semnan Special Economic Zone was approved by the Council of Ministers in 1989 and the responsibility of creating the zone in 1990 was transferred to the Semnan Industrial Towns Company.

Sadeghi pointed out: This area is located on a land with an area of ​​one thousand hectares in the east of Semnan city and adjacent to Semnan industrial town, and according to the follow-ups done by Semnan Industrial Towns Company in 1394, has succeeded in acquiring land.

He said: Comprehensive design, conducting environmental assessment studies, receiving approval from the Environmental Protection Organization and determining the boundaries of the region has been done so far in the Semnan Special Economic Zone.

The CEO of Semnan Province Industrial Towns Company said: with the cooperation of related executive bodies, the transfer of Semnan Special Economic Zone to investors will begin by the end of 1995.

More than 28,000 people are employed in production units in the towns and industrial areas of Semnan province.

38% of employment in Semnan province is related to the industrial sector.
