Ali Eghbali announced the amount of fines for violating employers in 1995 who employ unlicensed foreign nationals, and said: “According to the law, any employment of foreign nationals in workshop units is prohibited, and violating employers are imprisoned and paid from one day to 90 days in accordance with the law.” A worker is fined several times his wage.
He said that the amount of the fine in 1995 for violating employers who use foreign nationals without a work permit, according to paragraph (c) of Article 11 of the law regulating part of the government’s financial regulations to impose fines is five times the minimum daily wage. According to the decision of the Supreme Labor Council, which set the minimum daily wage at 270,722 rials in 2016, the amount of the fine for each day of illegal employment of foreign nationals will be 1,353,610 rials.
According to the Director General of Employment of Foreigners, the above amount will be applied to the violating employers and in case of repeated violations, this fine will be doubled.
