Export of organic dates to several countries
The director general of Sistan and Baluchestan Agricultural Jihad announced the export of 25,000 tons of dates from the province to seven countries and said: “This year, 3,000 tons of organic dates from Rutak Khash have been exported to Europe.”
Reza Najafi, in an interview with Asr-e-Hamoon social reporter, mentioned the area of groves in the province as 54,000 hectares and stated: 43,000 hectares of this area is fertile. He stated that about 210,000 tons of dates are produced annually in the province. He continued: the amount of production in Chabahar and Kanarak cities is limited.
The director general of the province’s agricultural jihad stated: The highest quality date in the province is called Majul, the production of which is limited, but Rabi and Mazafati dates produce 80% of the province’s famous dates. Najafi pointed out: We used to produce about 17,000 tons of dates, but now this capacity has increased.
He stated that a large amount of dates in our province are produced and exported under the Bam brand, and said: “Fortunately, 10 brands have been formed in the province so far.” This year, we produced 3,000 tons of organic dates, which were approved by the World Organic Bureau in Germany and exported to European countries.
He said: 25,000 tons of dates are exported to seven countries: Pakistan, Afghanistan, Russia, India, UAE, Malaysia and Turkey.
