Export of chicken meat to Afghanistan
Regarding the export of chicken meat to Afghanistan, the Director General of Veterinary Medicine of South Khorasan said: 1429 tons of frozen chicken meat was exported to Afghanistan during the first seven months of this year. Alireza Rafieipour, in an interview with an ISNA reporter in the South Khorasan region, said that the only way out of the economic recession in the poultry industry is to export raw animal products in this area.
He added: “Considering that about 30 million chickens are raised annually in poultry units, this production is in excess of the province’s needs, and currently most of it is sent to Sistan and Baluchestan and Khorasan Razavi provinces.” In order to be in production and progress in this field, we must emphasize export exchanges in order to provide the ground for the flourishing of the poultry industry.
Rafiipour pointed to the export of more than 1429 tons of frozen chicken meat to Afghanistan and said: during the first seven months of this year, this product has had a value of 2 million 143 thousand 650 dollars for the province.
The director general of the province’s veterinary department reminded: “Effective steps have been taken by the veterinary department to increase exports, and the IR code and the halal mark are the most important of these measures.”
