Increasing iodine production capacity in the country, the need to increase iodine tariffs and reduce imports, the head of Golestan Province Mining Industry and Trade Organization said: Despite the high iodine production capacity in Iran, 50 tons of this product is imported annually.
Husseinghli Ghavanloo, head of the Mining Industry and Trade Organization of Golestan Province, in an interview with the Industry, Trade and Agriculture Reporter of the Economic Group of the Young Journalists Club, said: The iodine production capacity in the country has increased from 65 tons in the past to 365 tons now. Now we hope that this capacity will increase to 600 tons per year in the next 3 months.
He went on to say that the total iodine consumption capacity of our country is 150 tons per year, adding: “Despite the high iodine production capacity in Iran and the export of 30 tons per year, but unfortunately we still see that 50 tons of this product enters the country annually.” .
Qavanloo added: “We want to increase iodine tariffs in order to prevent the import of this product to the country. The head of the Golestan Province Mining Industry and Trade Organization, pointing out that Iran is the fourth largest producer of iodine in the world, stated: Ready to expand downstream industries for consumption We have internally extracted iodine and we have done some work in this field.
