The head of the Economic Commission of the Islamic Consultative Assembly said that the plan to reform the banking system of the Islamic Republic of Iran was approved at the meeting of the Economic Commission.

For the past few years, the parliament and the government have been pursuing issues in the field of banking system in order to resolve the issues raised in the field of Islamic contracts and the weakness in the supervisory performance of banks.
The representative of the people of Kerman and Ravar in the Islamic Consultative Assembly added: in the ninth term of the Assembly, a working group in the Economic Commission pursued the issue of reforming the country’s banking system, but due to time constraints, it was not possible to approve the interest-free banking plan Followed up seriously.

Interest-free banking system bills and monetary and banking law are on the government’s agenda, and considering that government representatives and relevant agencies requested that a final conclusion be reached on the merger of the plan and bill after the presentation of government bills, it was decided that the government 45 days to act in this regard.
He added: “If the conditions are in place to integrate the said plan with the government bills, this will be done, otherwise the plan of the representatives will be operational.”

I hope that the issue of reforming the banking system will be resolved by the end of the year, because no reforms have been made in this field since about 62, while the banking laws of other countries change every few years.
He added: “With the reform of the country’s banking system, the concerns of high-ranking authorities of imitation regarding the religious doubts in banking issues, the people as well as economic activists will be resolved.”

A specialized and fully scientific structure is designed to reform the banking system so that, God willing, the law in this regard will be finalized by the end of the year.
With the approval of the law on reforming the banking system, reforms will be made in areas such as Islamic contracts, and the issue of filling the gap of the jurisprudential council, which is emphasized by the Supreme Leader as a pillar, will be addressed.
