Import process and review of clearance documents
The process of importing and checking the clearance documents: Checking the clearance documents in the national customs is a time-consuming process and according to Asgarovaladi, creating a single window in this section has not been effective.
Creating a single window by customs to facilitate trade is one of the effective measures that has satisfied exporters, but in the import of the former problems still persist. Facilitating exports has been helpful, but importers are still struggling with problems that a single window can help solve.
A member of the Tehran Chamber of Deputies said: “One of the biggest problems for importers today is that the clearance process has been prolonged.” The declaration of the goods that must be cleared from Bandar Amam is sent to one of the national customs, but due to the existing problems, the examination of the documents in the customs has been prolonged, as a result of which the clearance process has been extended.
Asgarovaladi said: “Currently, exporters are satisfied with the shortening of administrative processes, but the problems still remain for the import sector.” The process of clearance of goods from ports should not be prolonged. The declarations should be checked on the spot immediately and they should specify the shipment of the imported goods in three to four hours and not delay the importer for several days.
