List of 114 prohibited goods
The list was announced according to which government agencies are not allowed to import 114 items. Since 2014, lists for banning the import of similar domestically produced goods by government agencies have been proposed by the Ministry of Industry, Mines and Trade on several occasions. Each year, after these lists have been reviewed and approved by the Council of Ministers, they are notified for operation, thus prohibiting their importation by government agencies.
Of course, this ban has nothing to do with the private sector, and the people and the private sector are free to import these goods. According to Ali Aliabadi – Director General of the Export and Import Regulation Office of the Trade Development Organization – in 1393 equivalent to 180 items, in 1394 equivalent to 184 items and this year 114 items have been introduced by the government to ban imports, which in total during these years 478 rows of goods have been declared imported for government agencies.
