The absence of an X-ray machine in Shalamcheh has delayed the clearance of goods
Lack of X-ray machine in Shalamcheh has delayed the clearance of goods: The head of Khorramshahr Mining Industry and Trade Department said that the lack of X-ray machine in Shalamcheh and customs is the main reason for the prolongation of the clearance process.
According to the Mehr correspondent, Abdul Amir Rabihawi said at a symposium of officials and importers in the Khorramshahr Chamber of Commerce on Monday evening: Due to having sufficient knowledge of the area. In many cases, the presence of multiple experts has made the process of issuing the declaration longer and makes it difficult to follow up.
The head of Khorramshahr Mining Industry and Trade Department also referred to the issuance of a circular of the Ministry of Mining Industry and Trade regarding the need to import 20 items of commercial goods through agencies and added: The Minister of Interior emphasizes that goods should be imported only through agencies. Traders who do not have a representative do not have the right to import goods, and this has caused dissatisfaction among many traders and economic activists, if possible, the issue will be resolved locally or by a representative with follow-up at the national level.
Rabihawi also cited a 25 percent discount on shipping by sea as another request from local traders, explaining that the 25 percent discount applies only to goods shipped from Jabal Ali and ships over 500 tonnes. In the province, 300 vessels under 500 tons do transportation work, which does not include this discount, and therefore they do their goods transportation through Bushehr.
He also considered the absence of X-ray machine in Shalamcheh and customs as the main reason for the prolongation of the clearance process and noted: “Every day, delay in the clearance of goods causes a drop of one percent in the value of the goods.” Value added and other expenses were mentioned as another reason for the dissatisfaction of Khorramshahr merchants.
