Proposal to eliminate the import of consumer goods from free zones

Proposal to eliminate the import of consumer goods from the free zones: The chairman of the economic committee of the Sixth Plan Integration Commission said: It has been proposed to eliminate the import of consumer goods from the free and special zones.

Hadi Ghavami, pointing out that the Economic Committee of the Program Integration Commission has already summarized the materials of the Sixth Development Plan, said: Discussions and suggestions have been sent to the Integration Commission by holding at least 15 sessions and the desired amendments have been made.

The head of the Economic Committee of the Sixth Plan Integration Commission, stating that Article 12 on the purpose of subsidies has been amended, said: “Article 4 is related to the VAT on fuels, which has been removed in the committee’s proposal so that the government can present the VAT law.”

A member of the parliament’s program and budget commission stated: “Requirements have been prepared to achieve economic growth, part of which is related to how to enter, absorb oil revenues and its share in the current government budget.” He continued: “Requirements have been set to spend oil revenues in the form of investment and production.”

Ghavami, pointing out that an additional sentence has been proposed for smuggling goods, clarified: the import of consumer goods from free zones and special economic zones will be prohibited, although the free zones of Kish, Qeshm and Chabahar will be exempt from this rule.

According to a member of the Commission for the Integration of the Sixth Development Plan, border towns should be limited to the size of the goods accompanying the passenger, and the rest will be banned. It was also suggested that smuggled goods be returned or destroyed.

Regarding the purposefulness of subsidies in the Sixth Plan, the MP said: “It will be required that the government does not pay more than 60% of revenues in cash subsidies as provided in Article 12.”

He continued: the government wants to implement targeted crookedness, but it is accompanied by reforms and 20% goes to production and the rest to infrastructure.

Regarding macroeconomic indicators, Ghavami said: “The tax-to-GDP ratio will increase to 10 percent, and oil revenues will be invested, as well as quantitative indicators that can be monitored.”

A member of the Economic Committee of the Sixth Development Plan Commission on Exports and Imports said: “The trade balance in the economy has always been negative and is still negative. .

Regarding the formation of gross fixed capital and the fact that its growth has been negative in recent years, while the average annual growth of 15.4% has been forecasted during the program, the MP said: The government believes that openings will be made through foreign investment. Oil sales will double and the business environment will improve.

In response to the question that the macroeconomic indicators of the program are in line with the facts, he said: “In any case, it is a program whose goals have not been achieved if we examine the previous five programs.”

In response to the question that it had been argued with tolerance about previous plans that the development plan was a predictable goal, but none of it was in line with reality, Ghavami said: “They tried to look a little more realistic. Yes, not all plans are real and the plan is somewhere.” Which we must achieve if the assumptions come true we can hope.

He continued: “There are many proposals for the sixth plan and we have tried to present a proposal with the coordination of the government.” We need to go further in reviewing the program to see what happens.
